2007 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

March 4 – April 25.  Art exhibit. “Louisiana – the beaten path continued” paper pulp paintings by Ellen McCord.  Free opening reception Sunday March 4, 2:30 - 4:30 pm. 

Saturday March 31: Southdown Marketplace Arts & Crafts Festival. Gates open 8 AM – 4 PM.  300 vendor booths of arts, crafts, antiques, and more; Cajun cuisine food court; museum tours.  Family-friendly, alcohol-free. $4 admission; children under 12 free.  Additional fees for food, drinks, and tours.  

Friday April 6: Closed Good Friday holiday.

Saturday April 21: *Ladybug Ball Children’s Festival.  Contact ReMax Good Earth Realty 985-851-3999.

Sunday April 29: Southdown Jazz Brunch.  Brunch buffet, jazz music, and art auction outdoors under the Buquet Pavilion. 12:00-1:30 pm. $35 per person; advance tickets required.  

Saturday May 5: Bonne Terre Garden Fair in cooperation with LaTerre Master Gardener Association & LSU AgCenter.  Educational seminars and demonstrations by gardening experts; sales of plants, supplies, and merchandise; plant disease clinic; soil test station; children’s craft activities; garden-themed art show; museum tours; and food concessions.  Gates open 8:30 AM – 4 PM.   $2 advance tickets; $3 at gate; children under 12 free. 

May 5 – 31: Art exhibit. Winning entries of garden themed paintings and photographs from Bonne Terre Garden Fair competition

June – July: Art exhibit “Images of Southdown” open group show of various media. Exact dates TBA.

Thursday June 28: Annual membership meeting of the Terrebonne Historical & Cultural Society. 6:30 pm.

Wednesday July 4: Closed Independence Day holiday.

August – September: Art Exhibit by Carolyn Pellegrin. Exact dates TBA.

Sunday September 30:  Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra outdoor concert 3:00-4:00 p.m.  Kids’ interactive instrument zoo 2:00-2:45.  Free admission for general lawn seating.  Limited reserved pavilion seats; ticket details TBA.  

October – November: Art exhibit. “Louisiana: Beauty and Fame Fleeting” watercolors and etchings by Susan Hoffmann.  Exact dates TBA.
