Our 6th annual Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra concert was held last Sunday, March 20th. I think our audience will agree that the LPO really outdid themselves this year. Their music selection was superb! They had everything from the classics -1812, Overture sollenelle, Opus 49 to Battle Hymn of the Republic - to tunes we know and love from movies - The Sound of Music, Adventures on Earth from E.T., and the Suite from Star Wars (both the good and evil sides!)
I'd like to thank everyone who attended the concert. We put this concert on for you - the community!
A very special thank you to our sponsors as well, because without their generous donations, we simply could not afford to put this production on. Our sponsors for the concert were: Gold Sponsors - Buquet Distributing Company, Gulf Island Fabrication, Cenac Marine. Silver Sponsors - Synergy Bank, Diesel Source, David & Emily Elmore. Bronze Sponsors - Ledet Insurance, Cancienne Law Firm, South La. Bank, Michel Claudet, LLC, Mid Gulf Manage, and Dalton LeBlanc Insurance. If you do business with any of these companies, please tell them thanks for sponsoring the LPO at Southdown!
We also received a grant from the Louisiana Division of Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the La. State Arts Council as administered by the Houma Regional Arts Council. (Can't say that 3 times fast, but we still thank them!)
Also, thank you those who donated money or bought concessions - every little bit helped.

Our "guest conductor" - Olivia. She was a natural!

Thanks again to everyone who came and we hope you enjoyed the concert!
