LOUISIANA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA TO PERFORM AT SOUTHDOWN PLANTATION

The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) will perform at Southdown Plantation in a free outdoor concert Sunday, March 18 from 3–5 p.m.

The concert, hosted by The Terrebonne Historical and Cultural Society (THACS), will last approximately two hours. The event will also feature a pre-concert “Behind the Sounds” program from 2:15-2:45 p.m. This hands-on educational program lets children and families meet the musicians and learn about instruments up-close.

General admission to the concert is free with outdoor seating on the lawn. The audience should bring their own chairs or blankets. A limited number of tickets are also available for reserved table seating under the Buquet Pavilion for $25 per person, $200 per table of eight seats or corporate sponsor seating from $250-$1000. A cash bar with wine, sodas and snacks will be available. Outside food and drinks are also permitted.

This will be the seventh performance of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at Southdown Plantation.
The LPO was formed in 1991 as a non-profit corporation and orchestra. It is owned and operated by its 70 musician members. LPO’s mission is to provide the Gulf South region with a fully professional orchestra that offers the highest quality symphonic music, educational programs and multi-cultural community events to enhance the cultural vitality of the community.

This program by a grant from the Louisiana Division of Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Houma Regional Arts Council.
