Southdown Marketplace is a one-day arts & crafts festival that features more than 300 local and national vendors with unique hand-made products including jewelry, clothing, woodcrafts, original art, garden items, seasonal products and more! Come enjoy a huge selection of Cajun Cuisine food favorites like jambalaya, gumbo, red beans & rice, and corn soup. Tours of Southdown Plantation & Museum will also be available.
Southdown Marketplace is a Houma-Terrebonne tradition for over 25 years. We promote a family-friendly, alcohol-free atmosphere. All proceeds benefit the non-profit Terrebonne Historical & Cultural Society and Southdown Plantation & Museum.
Event take place rain or shine on the historic grounds of Southdown Plantation in Houma, LA. $5.00 entrance fee per person, children under 12 free. Additional charges for food, drinks, and museum tours.
Vendors are evaluated by an application process on the basis of the type and quality of their arts or crafts and by the date of application. Application and detailed vendor rules are below or please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Southdown Marketplace, P.O. Box 2095, Houma, LA 70361.
Returning vendors have until December 15th to turn in their applications to keep their status as a returning vendor. New vendors can start turning in their applications December 16th.
