Hours: Open Tuesday-Saturday 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. Tours begin
every hour; last tour begins at 3 P.M. Closed Sunday, Monday, December
31 & January 1, Mardi Gras Day, Good Friday, July 4, Thanksgiving,
December 24 & 25. Other holiday hours may vary.
Tours: Entrance to the museum is by escorted tour only (see
times above). Allow 1 hour for guided tour. Recommended 1.5 hours
for total visit. Self-guided written tours and French written tours
may be offered, subject to availability.

Accessibility:
There are steps at all entrances to the house/museum. Wheelchairs
are welcome; however, there is no ramp. Second floor accessible
by stairs only. Separate Gift Shop & Admission building and
restrooms are handicap/wheelchair accessible. Photographs and a
video about the museum are available for viewing in the gift shop
for disabled visitors unable to tour the house.

Location: 1208 Museum Drive; Houma LA. Near the intersection
of Hwy. 311 and St. Charles Street. Minutes from Hwy 90 or downtown
Houma. Approximately 60 miles west of New Orleans.
Directions: Southdown Plantation House/The Terrebonne Museum
is located in Houma approximately 60 miles southwest of New Orleans
and 100 miles southeast of Lafayette via US Hwy 90. Take US Hwy
90 to the exit for LA Hwy 311. Turn right off the exit onto 311
South toward Houma. Continue on Hwy 311 to the traffic light at
St. Charles Street (LA 664). Turn right on St. Charles Street, then
turn left on Museum Drive (across from shopping plaza). The entrance
to Southdown (1208 Museum Dr.) will be on the left. Park and enter
at the Gift Shop & Admission building.
