ARTIST TO SHOWCASE ABSTRACT PAINTINGS AT SOUTHDOWN PLANTATION
Nadjah Darwish Bergeron will showcase her abstract artwork from March 4 - April 30 at Southdown Plantation.
Her exhibit will feature fleur de lis and abstract paintings that reflect her view on springtime in a variety of colors and designs with a mixture of bright colors and neutral tones.
Bergeron’s paintings are done using a combination of media, including modeling paste, acrylics, and gloss varnish on canvas.
“I like to create interesting textures and combinations of colors and shades,” Bergeron said.
Originally from Panama, Bergeron is a self-taught artist but also has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. She has participated in various art events in the area, including Art After Dark in Houma and Art Walk in Thibodaux.
Bergeron says she was born with the desire to express herself in creative ways.
“I am on a journey of continued growth and exploration, discovering my love for what I do,” she said.
Bergeron’s opening art reception will be Sunday, March 4 from 2-4 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
Southdown Plantation is located at 1208 Museum Drive in Houma. Please call 985-851-0154 for more information.
