THACS becomes "Play It Again, Terrebonne" Project Parnters

In a project called "Play It Again, Terrebonne," the Kiwanis Club of Houma is collecting used musical instruments, which will be repaired and donated to community public schools. There, the instruments will be loaned to students year after year.
As a project partner, the Terrebonne Historical and Cultural Society will accept used instrument donations at their annual Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra concert Sunday, March 18th from 3-5 p.m. The Kiwansis Club is seeking used musical instruments, especially trumpets, flutes, saxophones, clarinets, and trombones.
Other project partners include Fabrigas Music, Haddad Music Inc., Houma Terrebonne Community Band, and Terrebonne Parish Band Directors Association. Together, these organizations hope that through music education, children who might not normally have a chance to participate in music education due to high cost of instruments can become more focused and learn perseverance, team work and discipline.
Southdown Plantation is located at 1208 Museum Drive in Houma. For more information on the concert, please call 985-851-0154. For more information on the Play It Again, Terrebonne Project, please contact Larry Frederick at 985-860-5757.
