THACS seeks sponsors for Saints Sunday & 5K

The Terrebonne Historical and Cultural Society is seeking sponsors for their fundraising event Saints Sunday & 5K to be held on Sunday, Oct. 16.
The event will feature live, family-friendly music by Sheauxdown from noon- 3 p.m., food, drinks, and kids’ activities and games. There will be a kids’ half mile fun run at 1:30 p.m. and a 5K for walkers and runners at 2 p.m. The New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game will be shown under the Buquet pavilion on two 73” televisions.
Money raised will go towards the museum’s “The Challenge Fundraiser,” which will pay for repairs to the museum. Recently, Southdown has been picked from many applications to participate in the Richard West Freeman Fund Challenge. If THACS can raise $10,000, the Freeman organization will donate $5,000 to put into an endowment fund.
There are many repairs the museum needs, including: installing of gutters to cut down on moisture problems; replacing damaged floorboards; fixing deteriorating walls, interior doors, exterior doors, moldings; reconstructing deteriorating window panes and muntins; and updating exhibits.
Because the repairs could take many years to complete, THACS will use the interest earnings from the endowment as a steady income towards repairs every year.
“The endowment will create an independent, steady income for the museum,” Katie LeCompte, Southdown Executive Director, said. “It will ensure that generations to come can still give the museum the upkeep and maintenance it needs every year without affecting their operating budget.”
In order to ensure the fundraiser is profitable, THACS is seeking donations and sponsorships from local businesses. Companies can participate for the following sponsorship amounts and benefits:
    • $2500 - Event Sponsor: 1) Included in all media: press releases, radio, print ads, advertisements, flyers, 2) Sponsorship recognized over loud speaker at event, 3) Name on front of runner’s race t-shirt, 3) Large logo on back of race t-shirt (prominently displayed), 4) Twelve free entrances to event, 5) Have company representative acknowledged and help hand out prizes and medals, 6) Hang multiple banners and signs at event, 7) Have an information table to hand out information or sell products at event, 8) Company name included in event name (example: Company Name & Southdown Museum present Saints Sunday & 5K)
